New Holden Commodore II
It's the Commodore, but not as you know it.
Sure, it still has all the space. It still surrounds you with 5-star rated safety. And, of course, it still performs like a Holden should. But in the very clever Series II Commodore, that performance now comes with fuel economy better than some smaller 4-cylinder cars, plus the ability to run on emission-shrinking E85 Bio-ethanol, a blend of up to 85% ethanol and 15% petrol. With the futuristic new touch-screen Holden-iQ System onboard, it now also seamlessly integrates your digital life with your time behind the wheel. Nine Sedan models. Nine Sportwagon models. All powered by intelligent technology, and all complete with distinctive new style enhancements, inside and out. Holden Series II Commodore - the future has never looked better.
Perfect proportions
Admit it. You can't take your eyes off the Commodore. Holden designers are the same - and they've been looking at it daily since it was nothing more than a few lines on a sketch pad.
Visual cues confirm Commodore as a vehicle of sports luxury. The perfect proportions of its dynamic body contours. The menacing grille and sloping stance. The short front and rear overhangs. The flared wheel guards and fender vents.
The 17 inch alloy wheels (4), projector headlamps and low mounted fog lamps. Without even turning the key, you know it has all the go you could ever want.
A delight to behold in every way, Commodore is not just a class above - it's in a class of its own.

Holden-iQ
Featuring the latest in touch-screen and Bluetooth® technology, the Commodore's all new Holden-iQ System lets you play music from your choice of iPod®, MP3 player, USB device, CD and the vehicle's own internal flash drive. Access your mobile phone address book to make and take calls, hands-free without touching your phone. Operate the rear camera and satellite navigation system (including real time traffic updates), where fitted. And adjust your dual-zone climate control. It's a level of control and flexibility that turns cabin space, into personal space. And in the new Series II Commodore, it's all at your fingertips.
Performance
Exhilarating rear-wheel driven performance has always been the hallmark of Commodore's sports lineup. Now it's also got serious smarts. The 3.6 litre SIDI Direct Injection V6 delivers its 210kW to the SV6 with even more kilometres to the litre. The Gen IV V8 with Active Fuel Management (AFM) can run on Bio-ethanol, which means more power to the road than ever from the SS and SS V-Series. All of this, plus Holden's legendary sports-tuned ride and handling, in vehicles that command attention every bit as much as they command the road.
The latest innovation from our Ecoline range of alternative fuel and fuel-saving technologies gives the Commodore Series II even more power to reduce your emissions while delivering uncompromising Holden performance. Because now - for the first time - you have the flexibility to run your Commodore on petrol or Bio-ethanol. A clean burning, renewable energy source that contains up to 85% ethanol, Bio-ethanol not only shrinks emissions, it actually enhances engine performance. Both the 3.0 litre SIDI Direct Injection V6 and Gen IV V8 powertrains are Bio-ethanol compatible. The former is one of the most technically advanced 6-cylinder engines to be manufactured in Australia.
Also available in a 3.6 litre variant, it lets you enjoy all the advantages of a large car with fuel economy normally seen on some smaller cars. In addition to its Bio-ethanol capability, Holden's famed 6.0 litre Gen IV features Active Fuel Management (AFM) on automatic transmission equipped SS, SS V-Series and Calais V-Series models. Switching automatically from eight to four cylinder operation according to driving conditions, it gives you full V8 performance when it's needed, and improved fuel economy when it's not. Your other option for lower fuel bills is the 3.6 litre Dual Fuel LPG Alloytec V6, which also combines true Holden performance with fuel running costs comparable to many small cars.
Space and Storage
It's one thing to be spacious. But it's another altogether to be space efficient. That's why the very clever Series II Commodore is both. Large in capacity and super practical, it's packed with storage optimisation ideas that make it easy to load, access, re-organise and unload your belongings. Room for everything - including the elbows and legs of five fullgrown adults - that's the new Series II Commodore.
Safety
You may not notice Commodore's advanced safety technology when driving, but rest assured, it's watching over your every moment behind the wheel. To help you avoid an accident, the vehicle's active safety systems feature everything from Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and 4-wheel disc brakes with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), to Traction Control System (TCS), Electronic Brake Assist (EBA) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution(EBD).
Should a collision occur, its passive safety systems instantly determine the severity and direction of impact, then activate any required occupant protection measures, including seatbelt pretensioners and six airbags - dual-stage front airbags for the driver and front passenger, side impact airbags for the driver and front passenger, and side curtain airbags. Front and rear crumple zones further maximise your safety, so too the multiple chassis load paths that help channel away impact energies, and the vehicle's safety cell which is reinforced with ultra high strength steel. The result is a 5-star ANCAP rating - the maximum possible - and the peace of mind that comes with owning one of the safest vehicles available in Australia today.
